Fantastic Four Comic Books – Who Are the Fantastic 4?
The Fantastic Four series is one of the most successful comic books today. The Fantastic Four comic books relate the adventures and stories of a team composed of:
Reed Richards/Mr. Fantastic – the group’s leader, Richards has the ability to stretch and twist his body according to his will.
He is a genius in various fields of science and mathematics. He is also very technologically proficient, inventing various gadgets and equipment featured in the fantastic four comics.
Susan Storm/ Invisible Woman – the Wife of Reed Richards, Susan Storm has the power to manipulate light waves in order to turn herself and others invisible.
She is also able to create and manipulate force fields, which can be used in both offense and defense.
Johnny Storm/ The Human Torch – Johnny is Susan Storm’s younger brother, with the ability to manipulate and produce fire from his body.
His control over heat also grants him the ability to fly. The character is actually based on one of Marvel’s first superhero, the android Human Torch.
Ben Grimm/ The Thing – with distinctive orange, rock-like skin, Ben Grimm often considers himself to be hideous.
However, fans of the Fantastic Four comics agree that The Thing is the most lovable character in the team. The thing is endowed with near-invulnerability and super-strength.
The four heroes are originally astornauts. During a test flight into space, they are bombarded by cosmic rays, altering their genetic make-up and giving them the powers that caused them to form the team of the Fantastic Four.
Unlike other superheores, the Fantastic Four have no secret identities. In fact, their status as superheores let them live the life of celebrities.
A prominent villain featured in the fantasic four comics is Victor Von Doom. A genius in all branches of science and certain branches of mysticism, Dr Doom is most formidable because of his high intellect. He wears a distinctive steel armor and green hood.
His armor enables him to survive in space and underwater for extended periods. The armor also generates a force field for protection and has the ability to generate massive amounts of electricity as a weapon. Fantastic Four comic books will be cherished for years to come.
